About 3 months ago I began the process of gradually going blonde. I wanted color that isn’t a ton of maintenance; so my hairdresser and I decided to lighten my overall color just a shade or two, and then she went in with heavy highlights in a range of blondes from caramel to ash. I will be getting more highlights soon, but I have really been loving it! Even as the color grows out and my roots are more noticeable, the color still looks great.
I am using some new hair products to keep overall health of my hair and keep the blonde strands from becoming brassy. Over these past months I have fallen in love with the Matrix Biolage line of products my hair dresser introduced me to; so much that I started branching off from just the shampoo and conditioner she suggested, and I have been using their leave in conditioners and stylers daily.
Current hair care products below:
Pre-Shampoo: Olaplex - This thick cream is a bond builder. I apply generously on damp hair before shampooing and rinse completely out. This has been a game changer, I was actually using this product before I colored my hair because I had heard such great things, now it’s a staple in my routine and I use it weekly. (more on the complete Olaplex process here)
Matrix Biolage R.A.W. Scalp Care anti-dandruff shampoo - contains salicylic acid that is gentle and not irritating to my sensitive scalp but leaves it feeling clean.
Matrix Biolage R.A.W. Color Care Shampoo - gently cleanses while preserving color and tone.
Matrix Biolage R.A.W. Color Care Conditioner - nourishes and adds shine to keep my blonde strands soft and smooth. My hair feels like butter after using this conditioner.
Matrix Biolage Keratin Dose Renewal spay - I use this straight out of the shower on wet/damp hair. I spray it generously to help detangle and moisturize. It is also lightweight enough to use throughout the week, if my hair feels dry in between washes.
Matrix Biolage 3 Butter Control System Day Cream - This has been my go to styling product, it is thick, so I only use it after a fresh wash, but it is so creamy and moisturizing; I also haven’t experienced any product build up with this like I have with other heavy creams in the past.

There are a few more products I can’t wait to try from the line as well. Let me know in the comments if this was helpful, and if you would like more hair posts.
